Yes!
We'd love to help you build your dream ride! Drop us a line here and we'll be glad to get you started!
This is one of the things that sets us apart from our competitors!
When you order a bike from us, we’ll fully assemble it, fully adjust all the components, including brakes and shifters, and do additional checks on sensitive components like rear derailleurs. Then we go and test ride your bike to make sure everything functions as expected under load. It’s all part of our Read to Ride Guarantee.
Once we’re sure everything is working as designed, we’ll mark positions of anything we disassemble for shipment (typically seat post and handlebars). Then we get your bike ready for shipment and include any tools you might need for reassembly. Your bike will also ship with detailed instructions on what we disassembled and how to put it back together. Typically, you’ll spend a total of about 15-20 minutes from taking your bike out of the box, unpacking it, to riding it for the first time.
If you’re concerned about doing even minimal assembly, we can arrange to ship your new bike fully assembled. We’re happy to do this for you, but keep in mind that it will have to be shipped via palletized freight and there will be additional shipping charges.
When shipping a bike APO/DPO it may require more assembly due to the size restrictions. In most cases we’ll have to remove the fork to meet the package size restrictions and in some cases the crankset as well. We make sure you have all the tools and instructions you need for reassembly, so even with the additional breakdown, assembly is a breeze. And as is the case for any purchase, we can always setup a video call to help you out! If you have concerns about doing the additional assembly, we can arrange for your bike to be shipped via air freight for an additional charge.
If you don’t see what you are looking for, drop us a line here. We typically have access to the full lineup of the brands we carry. If it’s not a brand we carry, it might be a bigger challenge, but we’ll gladly do our best for you!
The short answer is it depends on where we're shipping to!
Sales tax is constantly evolving, but we currently collect sales tax in a few states based on those state's requirements. If sales tax applies to you, it will show in your cart at checkout.
Military Discounts & Pricing
Yes!
We absolutely offer military discounts on bicycles, bicycle gear, running shoes, and any other gear we offer. Serving those who serve is the first and foremost reason we created GovVelo and we're proud to continue to support our men and women in uniform, as well as our veterans, law enforcement, and first responders.
In order to see your discounts, you'll need to create an account and verify your service with ID.me. Once you're signed in, you'll be able to see your special pricing!
Because we offer special pricing for military, veteran, and government employees, we’re obligated by our vendors to restrict pricing visibility to logged-in users who’ve verified their service.
So unless you’ve verified your service and are logged-in, you’ll only be able to see our retail prices. Also, some of the brands we carry are only available to service members.
Fear not! Verifying is quick and easy through our partnership with ID.me!
If you already have an ID.me account, all you'll need to do is follow the authentication steps when prompted during account creation.
If you do NOT have an ID.me account, create that first and get your eligibility confirmed, then come back to GovVelo.com to create your account with us and follow the authentication steps when prompted.

If you find a lower price elsewhere, drop us a line here and we’ll gladly try to match or beat it! Please note, some restrictions do apply such as the item needs to be in stock, an exact match, new (not refurbished, used, etc.), and from an authorized dealer.
Shipping & Returns
We absolutely do!
Most products we sell, including mountain bikes, road bikes, bike trainers, and gear can be shipped APO/FPO/DPO for our military and diplomatic staff customers.
Keep in mind, some destinations have additional restrictions beyond the normal size/weight limits for APO/FPO/DPO delivery. Please inform us if these apply so that we can make sure your order gets to you.
All APO/FPO/DPO is shipped via USPS Priority Mail. While less expensive, we normally do NOT ship via USPS Parcel Post as the transit time is significantly longer which greatly increases the risk of in transit damage.
Most of our packages are shipped with FedEx or UPS. Smaller packages are typically shipped through the US Postal Service. If we’re shipping to an APO/FPO/DPO address, your order will always be shipped through the US Postal Service.
No matter where we ship your order to, we make sure your gear is packaged so that it arrives safely. In the rare case there is damage that occurs in transit, it is crucial that you note that damage when taking delivery and contact us right away. Do NOT discard any of the packaging as we’ll need to file a claim with the carrier. Be sure to take plenty of well-lit pictures to help expedite the claims process in the unlikely event of an issue.
Absolutely!
Most gear orders over $50 that ship to an address in the Contiguous US are shipped with FREE ground shipping. Bikes and other oversize items may have an oversize shipping charge due to the high cost of shipping in today's market. Outside of the Contiguous US, shipping rates apply on all orders, and are calculated based on the item(s) and the destination. Expedited shipping options are available as well. Bikes shipped outside of the Contiguous US have an additional fee shown in cart to cover the increased shipping cost and packaging requirements.
We like to keep it easy!
We're not big on lengthy return policies and we'll do what we can to help you out. The gist of it is, if it falls within our return window, we'll gladly take it back, minus shipping costs (unless it was our mistake).
Read our full Return Policy for all the details. Like most things in life, there are exceptions, so if you have a specific question or concern, drop us a line here and we’ll be glad to help you out!
Warranty
Yes!
We’re authorized dealers for everything we sell. That means you're covered by the manufacturer's warranty and can get warranty coverage through us or any other authorized dealer as long as it's within the manufacturer's warranty period and you have your proof of purchase.
Being an online bicycle dealer and you being probably a few hundred miles or more away from our warehouse can seem to make this a little challenging. Fear not!
We have lots of ways to help you out and get you back to pedaling, including mobile repair shops in some areas. The best thing is to drop us a line here and we’ll find a way to fix the issue.
Don’t forget, we’re authorized dealers for everything we sell. That means you do not have to worry about your warranty!
